Dr. Rajendra and Dr. Bharati Abhyankar began their practice in 1987 in Gadhinglaj — then a small town with no orthopaedic surgeon within a 50 km radius — offering orthopaedic and gynaecology & obstetrics care from the very start.
Dr. Rajendra and Dr. Bharati Abhyankar shifted back to Kolhapur and began their own small but humble setup near the Temblai Hills — the seed from which Purva Hospital would grow.
A full-fledged 20-bedded multispecialty hospital was started at Takala under the name Purva Hospital — built around a singular focus on patient well-being and care.
