Led by Dr. Bharati Abhyankar (37+ years) and Dr. Tanvi Hirekerur-Abhyankar — caring, experienced support for you and your baby from the first check-up to life after delivery.
Pregnancy is one of life's most important journeys, and having one team who knows you throughout makes it calmer. At Purva Hospital our obstetricians look after you before the birth, during delivery and after, with the aim of a safe pregnancy, a safe delivery and a healthy mother and baby. Every plan is made with you, in plain words, so you know what is happening and why.
If your pregnancy needs closer watching — for example because of a medical condition or a complication — see our page on high-risk pregnancy care.
Your care is led by senior obstetricians with decades of experience, supported by our in-house pathology laboratory, ultrasound and pharmacy. We believe in giving every woman time — to ask questions, to understand her options and to take part in decisions about her delivery. A natural birth is encouraged where it is safe, and a caesarean is advised only when it is the safer choice. Our billing team assists insured patients with cashless claims.
As soon as your pregnancy is confirmed, ideally in the first trimester. An early visit lets us check your health, start any needed supplements and plan the tests and scans ahead.
The decision depends on your health, your baby's condition and position, and how labour progresses. Where it is safe, we encourage a normal delivery. A caesarean is advised when it is safer for you or your baby, and we explain the reasons clearly.
Bring any earlier reports and prescriptions, details of your last period and any medicines you take, and a list of your questions. If you have had earlier pregnancies or deliveries, bring those records too.
Maternity cover depends on your policy and its waiting period, so please check your policy. Purva Hospital offers hassle-free cashless claims with providers including New India Assurance, National Insurance Company, Oriental Insurance, United Insurance and Aditya Birla — our billing team assists throughout.
